Currently we do not host our own servers to collect any data, hence majority of below will be based on services we integrate with. We encourage you to read it carefully.

What kind of personal data do we collect?

  1. While using the extension (indirectly collected from browser store):
    • Extension updates, subscription downloads, emergency notifications, Browser version, Extension version, Operating system, Date of last update, IP address.
    • Donations: Amount of donation, Browser language, Extension name and version, Browser type and version, Operating system and version, Number of notification downloads, Information whether the local storage of the extension configuration is corrupted, Filter subscriptions enabled/disabled, Identifying information about the devices that connect to the payment service provider.
  2. While using our websites:
    • Automatically: IP Address, aggregated analytics data collected by our web analytics partner.
    • Voluntary: Name, e-mail address, data you provide in comments, feedback and filter data, and all other data voluntarily uploaded / shared by you.
  3. For user support and social media:
    • User name (contact via social media) and/or email
    • Device information and URLs the user is having issues with
    • Version of TEE Buddy and other applicable tech specifications
    • Address and transaction ID numbers for donation refunds (voluntary)
    • User profiles on social media

How do we collect data?

Various methods and tools we use are:

  1. From extension: Update checks, subscription, downloads
  2. From website: Web analytics, donation data, name/email/other data sent by you, when contacting us.
  3. For user support: Via email sent by you, user reviews in browser web store, social platforms like Facebook and Twitter

How and why do we process your data?

  1. To inform you about urgent issues in connection with our products.
  2. Improve and evaluate our extension by analysing subscription, downloads, updates, uninstalls, and issue reports.
  3. For technical purposes, such as, but not limited to, preventing security attacks, to improve our website / products, to ensure website / product security.
  4. To analyze aggregated website logs, and for non-EU/EEA users analytics data, to improve our website.
  5. To assist you with any issues you may have, promote our product, and any such communication.
  6. For receiving donations that you send to us and for fraud detection.

How long do we keep data?

  1. 30 Days: For logs, issue reports, browser webstore logs
  2. 1 Year: All user support data is deleted after closing the respective support case.
  3. 10 Years: Donation and subscription reports.
  4. Email or social media comms: As long as the platform exists and if you want to it be retained.

Please note: We use third party services for web analytics and payment processing, the data governance of which are dictated by the privacy policies of the respective entity. We try not to gather any information from the user unless there us technical or a legal basis to do so.

What are your rights?

  1. Get information about the personal data processed by us and how we process your data as well as to gain access to such data.
  2. Correct inaccurate personal data and restrict details.
  3. Receive all your personal data in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format, as well as having such data transmitted to another controller.
  4. Request erasure of your data, unless such data needs to be retained for legal purposes.
  5. Object to the processing of your data.
  6. Withdraw your consent at any time, when you have provided us with your consent to the processing of your personal data.
